Ever since 1960, the Netherlands has been organising Floriade: the world horticultural exhibition. Every ten years the location of this imposing event changes, this year landing the event in Almere. With over 60 hectares of space, 40 inspiring country representations, and even a cable car, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this ‘living lab’ is seen as the world’s most important horticultural exhibition.
Growing Green Cities
This 7th edition of the world horticultural exhibition is dedicated to the theme ‘Growing Green Cities’ and shows greener solutions, which make our cities more enjoyable, more liveable, and more sustainable. Which is quite relevant, since when you look at the forecast for 2050, it is expected that a whopping 68% of the world population will be living in a city. And that on only 2% of the earth’s surface…

There’s more than enough to experience at Floriade Expo 2022.
